Mica Band Heaters

MPI Morheat is a manufacturer of Mica Band and Mica Nozzle heaters, which are used for heating around a pipe or nozzle. Mica Band heaters are commonly used in the plastic extrusion industry but can also be used for other applications with max temperatures less than 1000°F. MPI has a large stock of Mica Band heaters available for same-day delivery. Custom solutions are also available for fast delivery if needed.

Stock heaters come standard with 12” of Stainless-Steel Braid. Stock heaters can be manufactured with custom terminations including stainless steel armor, terminal boxes, stud terminals, and euro plugs.

Ceramic Band Heaters

MPI Morheat is a manufacturer of Ceramic Band heaters typically used for plastic extrusion, injection molding, and blow molding. Ceramic Band heaters are a high-performance alternative to standard Mica Band heaters. MPI Ceramic Band heaters are insulated with high-quality ceramic fiber, which provides best-in-class thermal efficiency. This results in a long-lasting heater that can withstand operating temperatures of up to 1400°F. All MPI Ceramic Band heaters feature a stainless-steel outer sheath for optimal oxidation resistance. Ceramic band heaters can fully open for convenient installation.

Starflex Band Heaters

MPI Morheat Starflex Band heaters feature an extruded aluminum segmented band with pressed-in tubular heating elements. MPI Starflex Band heaters have minimal expansion and provide a tight barrel fit, ensuring optimal heat transfer over the entire operating temperature range. MPI Starflex Band heaters can operate at temperatures of up to 600°F.

Starflex Band heaters can be used in many different applications, including plastic extrusion and injection molding, and have an excellent operating life with little to no downtime.

In heating and cooling applications, Starflex Band heaters are a popular choice. Starflex Band heaters can be fitted with optional cooling tubes, which can quickly cool the heater due to its low overall mass.

Cool-only Starflex Bands can also be manufactured for demanding applications.
